Posture Up is a 6-week easy to follow exercise video program aimed at building core (abdominal, upper
back, and glute) strength and improving balance.
Each week consists of four workouts aimed on building core strength and an additional two or three arm workouts. Each of the four main core workouts begins with a quick warmup to get you moving, loose and ready to strengthen. Do the videos when they fit in your schedule, they will only take about 20 minutes a day.
In the picture on the left all the "boxes" are stacked, meaning all body parts are aligned. The middle image and the image on the right are common postural deviations which very often cause musculoskeletal pain.
In the middle picture the head is too far forward, the upper back is slightly rounded and the shoulders are rounded forward, pelvis is tipped under and the knees are bent.
In the third picture the shoulders are pinched back, the chest is out, the belly is out, there is an arch in the low back, the pelvis is tipped down and the knees are hyperextended.
Pilates and the Posture Up Program work to restore alignment by strengthening weak muscles, lengthening shortened or tight muscles, and mobilizing joints.
